The craziest (and most fun) paella cooking class in Barcelona

If you're planning a trip to Barcelona and looking for an unforgettable cooking experience, The Paella Club is a must! Nestled in the heart of the city, this cooking class offers the perfect mix of delicious food, fun vibes, and cultural immersion. For a sneak peek of what to expect, check out our reel on Instagram, or keep reading for all the juicy details about this unique experience (and how to book).

Why The Paella Club Stands Out

Cooking classes are always a great way to connect with local cuisine, but they are NOT all created equal. The Paella Club takes it to another level. Here’s what made our experience so special:

  • Cook 8 Different Paellas: Yes, you read that right. Over the course of the evening, we prepared eight different types of paella, including two vegetarian options. Whether you're a seafood lover, a fan of tender chicken, or prefer a hearty vegetarian dish, there’s something for everyone.

  • Highly Informative: This wasn’t just about stirring a pot of rice. The talented teaching team shared how to make paella from start to finish all from scratch. Plus they provided tips along the way. For example... did you know you are supposed to cook the shrimp with the heads on and smash them to provide more flavor?! I have a seafood allergy, so I skipped out on this, but Nate can confirm it's true.

  • The Vibes: Imagine a cooking class meets a dance party. The atmosphere was lively, welcoming, and just plain fun. The team at The Paella Club really knows how to make everyone feel at home—even if you’ve never cooked before.

  • Bottomless Cava and Wine: Need I say more? Our glasses were literally never empty, and it definitely helped to liven up the party. Plus the cava and wine paired perfectly with dinner!

  • Make Friends While You Cook: The communal setup of the class makes it easy to strike up conversations and bond over cooking. We met people from all over the world and had a blast connecting over our shared love of food and travel. At the end of the class, dinner is served at a long communal table so you can chat over food and sample all of the paellas, plus the additional appetizers and desserts provided by the team. It was a full multi-course meal with lots of new friends.
